Clara Romance

Issue no. 1

Head First, Fearless

One on One

In the future, maybe, Maria Lourdes and Andres Miguel will be their country’s best and most influential leaders. But today they’re just college kids who want to be together.

Of Love and Golden Chances

The First of Many

When I picked up my first Sweet Dreams book, I had no idea it would change my life forever. From the kind of books I read to the stories I love to write about, romance has become my sweet spot in fiction. Majority of the books I read consist of romance novels, if not for other genres that have romance as a subplot.

Despite the good or bad rep romance garnered, there’s been a surge of these books in the local publishing scene, not to mention more and more authors are coming out of the woodwork to write about the travails of love and all its idiosyncracies. The best thing about this is that people continue to read these books! Romance has such a universal appeal, and Carl Sagan says it best:

For small creatures such as we the vastness is bearable only through love.

Clara was borne out of our collective love of romance and support for Filipino authors who continue to hone their craft to write the best romance stories for this generation and the next. We hope that Clara will be more than just an online journal but also a thriving community of readers and writers supporting the best of Filipino romance genre. Here’s to the first of many!
